Honors:

  • 2008 Preseason All-American
  • 2008 Baseball America Summer Player of the Year

Strengths:
Minor is an elite college lefthanded pitcher.  His best pitch is a low 90s fastball that tops out at 94 mph.  He pairs it with a plus changeup and a solid curve and slider.  He’s got a projectable frame and clean mechanics.

Weaknesses:
Minor actually regressed in his sophomore season at Vanderbilt.  He walked more batters and allowed more hits and home runs.

The Future:
Minor had a great summer with Team USA that vaults him into consideration in the top of the first round.  However, he has not proven he can dominate his own conference.  Right now, he’s a middle of the first round selection.
