1,504 picks later …

The draft came to a close this afternoon when the Boston Red Sox announced the final pick in the draft and thus the new Mr. Irrelevant, Kyle Stroup, a righthanded pitcher from Illinois.  We’ll start our team-by-team analysis and grades with the AL East on Saturday.  There are still some good college players to be had as undrafted free agents.  Here are the top five (only college seniors are included here because undrafted high school seniors and college underclassmen are likely to stay in school):

  1. Kevin Crabtree, lf, Stephen F. Austin State
  2. Marcus Moore, rhp, Utah Valley State
  3. Matt Gardner, rhp, Oklahoma State
  4. Trent Lockwood, 1b, Texas-San Antonio
  5. Matt Couch, rhp, San Diego
