Fans who made the trek to Barcroft Park today were treated to extra frames as James Madison and George Washington dueled for 11 innings. The Colonials jumped to an early 4-1 in the second inning, scoring two on a Tom Zebroski RBI single. However, the Dukes batted around in the fourth to take a 5-4 lead. After GW tied it in the bottom of the frame, the teams played six scoreless innings (Ryan LaPointe threw 6 1/3 scoreless). The Dukes took the lead for good in the 11th, scoring three runs in the frame including two on a RBI double from Trevor Kaylid, who had pitched earlier in the game and was moved to right field. It was the redshirt senior’s first career plate appearance. First baseman Steve Caseres also chipped in, walking three times and scoring a run.
