Scouting report: Duke @ Boston College

–BROXTON, Mass.

April ushers in the beginning of spring, but it might as well have been December in Broxton, Massachusetts. Boston College braved the 40 degree chill to sweep a doubleheader from ACC rival Duke on April 5. Senior ace Terry Doyle got into early trouble, but settled down to hold Duke to two runs (all earned) over seven innings. He struck out seven and only allowed three walks in the win. Andrew Wolcott matched Doyle for the first four innings, but ran out of gas in the fifth. Eric Campbell led off the fifth with a double and scored on Garrett Smith’s fielder’s choice. Barry Butera also contributed, going 2-4 with an RBI and a walk.

New player pages are up for Doyle and Campbell.
