Today’s William & Mary/GW game showcased several draft prospects who aren’t getting much publicity. GW started draft-eligible sophomore Ryan Lapointe against William & Mary freshman Tim Norton. Norton, a 6-foot-4 right with an easy 87 mph fastball, might be the better prospect long-term, but Lapointe has a future in the 2008 draft. He’s short, but he showed a big fastball and a second potential plus pitch. Junior Pat Lehman relieved Lapointe and may have the best stuff on the Colonials squad.
William & Mary won on the strength of James Williamson’s and Tim Park’s hitting. Charlie Kruer had a big day in the loss, hitting his third home run of the season. Click on the names of any of these prospects to view their page.
