Honors:

  • 2007 Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American
  • 2007 CAA All-Rookie Team

Strengths:
Caseres displays good bad speed and plus power.  He also has good plate discipline, walking three times against George Washington on 4/23/08.

Weaknesses:
Caseres struck out nearly once out of every four plate appearances in 2007.  He has improved upon that figure in 2008, but his strikeout rate will continue to be an issue.

The Future:
Caseres is a power hitting college first baseman in a draft full of them.  He is good enough to merit a draft choice in the first ten rounds, but will probably return to James Madison for his junior year.
