Strengths:
Martin has one of the best swings of any prep prospect and he possesses two plus-plus tools. Martin is a product of the storied East Cobb baseball program and his swing is one of the most powerful in the country (see below). It’s technically sound yet produces plenty of leverage to hit home runs. He has the patience and strength to hit home runs to the opposite field. But what has surprised scouts this spring is his pitching acumen.  Martin has thrown as hard as 95 mph from third base, and he’s displayed command and a plus slurve from the mound.  He is also an average runner.

Weaknesses:
His hands work at third base, but he doesn’t have exceptional range.  Scouts haven’t seen much of Martin from the mound so he’s even more of a risk than most high school pitchers.
