Strengths:
Harris is the best pitcher in Naval Academy history. He has dominated Patriot League hitters; since 2005, he has struck out more than 12 batters per nine innings. Harris’ fastball sits in the low 90s and his curve ball has the potential to be a second plus pitch. He’s got an ideal pitcher’s body.
Weaknesses:
Signability is a major concern for Harris. Navy requires its cadets to serve five years in active duty and rarely grants exemptions for athletes. Harris’ stuff and command is presently only solid-average. He does not hold runners well.
The Future:
He’s a second-round pick on talent (we ranked him #43 last year), but could drop much further if teams don’t think he’ll sign.
