Strengths:
Bianucci is a polished college hitter who has put up astounding numbers in the best conference in baseball. As a draft-eligible sophomore, nearly half of his hits were for extra bases while exhibiting great plate discipline. He’s got a clean swing and isn’t afraid to drive the ball to all fields. He’s a solid-average to plus runner.
Weaknesses:
The pro team that drafts Bianucci will have to find a place to play him. He plays corner outfield for Auburn, but he’s only an adequate outfielder. The Angels drafted him as a third-baseman in 2007, but he would be below average there, too. Some scouts believe that Bianucci’s swing won’t translate well to wood.
The Future:
First five rounds.
