Strengths:
It was only two years ago that Sobolewski was leading Sarasota High School to the Florida 6-A title game. Now, as a draft-eligible sophomore at Miami, he’s leading his team to a host bid in the NCAA regionals. He has plus power and an average arm.
Weaknesses:
Sobolewski needs to refine his game. He’s an average runner at best, and he may not have the footwork or quickness for third base. He must cut down on his strikeouts and boost his walk rate from 2007.
The Future:
If Sobolewski wants to sign, he could go between the fifth and seventh rounds. He would be better served to stay another year in Coral Gables and be the best player on one of the top teams in the country.
