Strengths:
6-foot-8 lefthanded pitchers don’t come around very often and there’s a lot of promise in Duncan’s body. His present velocity is solid: an 88-92 mph fastball, a plus splitter, a circle change and a slider. He improved in his sophomore season, striking out more than one batter per inning and improved stats in every category.
Weaknesses:
Duncan is raw for a college pitcher. His mechanics need work and he has to be more consistent from start to start. As a high school senior, he was suspended from the baseball team after being issued a citation for underage alcohol consumption.
The Future:
Late first round/supplemental round. We ranked him #46 in our 2007 rankings (he was a draft eligible sophomore).
