Strengths:
Satterwhite may have the best pure stuff of any collegian. As Ole Miss’ closer in 2007, Satterwhite throws gas at 95-96 mph and also has a solid curve. Scouts think he’ll be able to move to the starting rotation as a pro. He’s got a pitcher’s body.
Weaknesses:
His stats don’t reflect his stuff. His achillies’ heel is his command and he’s walked a batter every other inning for his entire college career.
The Future:
Ole Miss will move Satterwhite to the rotation in 2008. If he shows better command and a better feel for his secondary stuff, he could be drafted in the first half of the first round. If not, he’s a pitcher with big upside and bigger question marks.
