Strengths:
Blackmon spent 2005 and 2006 at Young Harris Junior College as a pitcher before transferring to Georgia Tech. He has since moved to the outfield, but his arm plays well in right field. He’s having an excellent year at the plate. Although his swing is long, he shows good bat speed and the ability to pull fastballs on the inner half.
Weaknesses:
Blackmon needs to tweak his swing. He doesn’t transfer his weight during his swing and his swing path is long, but both of these are correctable flaws.
The Future:
Blackmon has improved his draft stock by at least five rounds. He should be taken in the 10-15 round range.
