Strengths:
Meyer is the ultimate projectable high school pitcher. Standing 6-foot-7, Meyer delivers a 92 mph fastball with heavy life and pairs it with a high 70s slider. He’s only 200 lbs, so scouts figure that Meyer might gain 20 lbs and pump his fastball into the mid 90s.
Weaknesses:
All high school pitchers are risky, but Meyer carries more risk than most. Tall pitchers have trouble repeating their mechanics. Additionally, Meyer’s present stuff projects his as a back of the rotation pitcher. The team that signs him is betting that he’ll get a lot better.
