School: Wilson HS (California)
Class: HS Senior
Height: 6′1″
Weight: 165 lbs.
Bats: Switch
Throws: Right
Pos: of/rhp
Hometown: Long Beach, CA
Commitment: Southern California
Previously Drafted: None
Strengths:
Hicks might be the most exciting player in the draft. A two-way stud, Hicks features a 94 mph fastball and dynamic secondary stuff: an excellent hard curve, a solid cutter and changeup. In the field, Hicks is a switch-hitting outfielder with plus speed and athleticism and well-above-average raw power.
Weaknesses:
He’s the rawest player in the draft. His swing is long and he’s taken too many bad cuts. He’ll need to get stronger and add weight.
The Future:
#10-20 overall.
